You are welcome to Benxi

As early as half a million years ago, the first wisp of cooking smoke rose from here in northeast China. Along the way, along the scenery, here has become the old industrial base and  landscape cultural city . Today, it is known as a wooded  steel city , a   pharmaceutical city , a maple leaf city in China .

This is Benxi, China.

Benxi city, under the administration  of Liaoning Province, covers an area of 8,414 square kilometers and has a total population of 1.52 million. Benxi city has jurisdiction over two counties and four districts and a high-tech zone of national class.

The superior location and the convenient transportation

Benxi,  neighboring Shenyang , a provincial capital city , is located in the hinterland of Liaodong peninsula and it is an important city in the city group of central Liaoning. There are four highways including Danfu, Bengliaoliao, Dantong and Huanyong. Moreover there is a special railway line for  bullet train  running through the whole city .  It takes about 30 minute-drive from Benxi to Taoxian International Airport . It is about 180 kilometres from Dandong Seaport and Yingkou Seaport, and 380 kilometres from Dalian Seaport . You may cover a population of 22 million within one hour's drive.

Beautiful ecological scenery

With four distinctive seasons, Benxi has beautiful landscape .

With over 600 mountains and  76.3% of forest coverage , Benxi has ecological security barrier in the east of Liaoning . Moreover ,  with its three major water systems, 251 rivers and 29 reservoirs, Benxi has  an important ecological functional area in China, which is  known as  "water tower" in Liaoning Province.

Here, with mountains and rivers, is  picturesque.

Benxi Water Cave is the world's longest underground water-filled cave which has been  discovered .Wunv Mountain,Guamen Mountain, Fenglin Valley, Greenstone Valley, Tiecha Mountain, enjoy the reputation  of the world cultural heritage ,  the national forest park, both at home and on the web . Maple leaf is  a beautiful business card of Benxi .The mountain scenery in late autumn is delightful when all the trees are  touched with red in the north of  China.

Known as "China's hot spring city" ,  Hot springs such as  Huaximu ,Tianzhu   and Fengxianggu  are  famous .

Benxi snow and ice tourism has  great potential. At present,There are  three large ski slopes with over   20 ski runs.

Rich resources and colourful culture

With the total amount of 1 million mu of  ginseng under the forest, accounting for more than 70% of the national market share, Benxi is knows as “a town of mountain ginseng" in China .

Benxi huanren ice wine is honoured as "tears of God", accounting for more than 60% of the world's annual output.

Well known as the "National Geological Museum ",Benxi is  rich in mineral resources. Up to now , there are 45 proved minerals , which are rich in iron ore reserves,  and  of first-class quality, available for a strong support for iron and steel industry in Benxi .

As the country's old industrial base, the city shows more than just blooming steel flowers, but also a colorful cultural heritage. With strong customs and cultural integration and with the profound cultural accumulation and ethnic customs, handicrafts such as wood -cuts , paper-cuts, and ink stones are characterized to be regionally distinctive.

Industrial agglomeration has broad prospects

The steel industry is the base of the city.

Benxi Iron and Steel group Co., LTD., the largest provincial enterprise, has the world's most advanced production line. The annual production capacity of high quality steel is 20 million tons. Taking  Qiaobei and  Dongfenghu as carriers in the steel deep processing industrial park ,  a group of leading enterprises such as Jinqiao Welding Waterials and Yinlong  Prestressing Force  have been built. Taking the national demonstration base for scrap steel processing and distribution as the carrier,  the scrap steel production line of c&d group were introduced with the processing and distribution capacity reaching 4 million tons.

 With the biomedical industry a new way  has been found for Benxi  to transform  resource-based city to  innovative  city .

In the state-level high-tech zone, we have gathered some enterprises such as  China Resources Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical Co., Shanghai Pharmaceutical Corp, Shanghai Green Valley, Tianjin Tasly, Japan Eisai Corp.,Korea Daewoong Pharmaceuticals, etc .  with 126 projects . 51 pharmaceutical R&D institutions, and six  pharmaceutical universities and polytechnic schools have been introduced into Benxi, such as  Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, China Medical University Benxi Campus,  Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Benxi Campus,and etc. The area gathering  pharmaceutical industries with seven national high-end brands have been built , which is unique in China .

Cultural tourism industry is the new blood for the revitalization and development of Benxi old industrial base.

Clear water and green mountains are mountains of gold and silver and snow and ice are also mountains of gold and silver. Benxi has been continuously enriching the brand connotation of maple leaf city, and has been focusing on the planning and construction of tourism industry, developing new products and new business forms. We focus on  developing enclave economy, planning 7 enclave economy parks.  introduce enclave project nearly at present. Up to now ,about a hundred projects concerning enclave economy have been introduced .We will focus on improving the business environment, continue to deepen the reform of delegating power, streamlining administrative procedures, and improving efficiency. The approval time of all municipal construction projects has been reduced to within 90 working days.
